Now that fingerprinting is used to identify and segregate illegal immigrants apprehended in the Tucson Sector, a great deal more is known about many of the illegal immigrants crossing the border.

“The Tucson Sector gets a lot of sex offenders and we average at least one or two a week throughout the sector.”  Gonzalez references a man wearing a blue t-shirt.  “He served 2 1/2 years in jail for sexual conduct with a minor.”

Agents knew that because they ran his fingerprints. “He could have told us whatever we wanted and that’s what we have to go on.  But with his fingerprints you can’t hide that,” said Gonzalez.

I have always said that the importance of an secure border and enforceable immigration laws is based upon the need to know who is coming into the country and whether or not we want them here. We have enough of our own sex offenders in the United States without importing them from other countries.

Ricin has been used to assassinate people - the KGB has used it to kill at least one defector, for example. An amount the site of a pin head can kill a human by blocking cells from producing needed proteins.

Preliminary tests show the substance is ricin, authorities said, but other tests to confirm it are under way.

Meanwhile, the reason the substance was in the room remains a mystery.

“We don’t know who [the ricin] belongs to or why it would be here at this time,” said Capt. Joe Lombardo of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

The FBI said Friday morning it considers this to be a criminal case with no link to terrorism.

Authorities were called to an Extended Stay America hotel around 3 p.m. PT Thursday after a man brought a bag with a small container to the manager’s office. The man said he found it while retrieving items from a hotel room.

The substance is “100 percent ricin,” Lombardo said.

Ricin takes a deliberate act to produce and it has been found in quantities similar to that found in Las Vegas in Al Qaeda hideouts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Well, first there was Hsu. Now there is Celis.

It wasn’t much of a story at first. Back in October a rival accused Corpus Christi “attorney” Mauricio Celis of practicing law without a license, which is a felony in Texas. And you know,he seemed to be hemming and hawing about his bona fide lawyerness quite a bit.

Born in Mexico, raised in Rockport, educated in Monterrey, Mexico, and for a while apparently in the air-conditioning business, Celis seemed a South Texas version of the classic American success story. But the story line took a bad turn on Sept. 28, when Thomas Henry, a Corpus Christi lawyer, appeared on a local television station and denounced Celis, 35, as a fraud.

“Mauricio Celis with the law firm of CGT Law Group International does not have a law license in the state of Texas nor does he have a license to practice law anywhere in the world,” announced Henry in the paid TV spot.

… “He was wrong in his statements. I have never represented myself to be a lawyer in Texas,” Celis said by phone in a brief interview this week.

That and related folderol were good for a few quick jibes in the blogosphere, but never really reached Hsu-like proportions.Well, apparently that little law license tiff raised some more interesting questions, and now another Hsu has dropped:

CORPUS CHRISTI — Mauricio Celis is linked to the Mexican drug trade in a search warrant the state used Friday to raid his law offices and gather computer files, according to financial documents and other business records. The warrant includes a sworn statement by a Texas Attorney General’s official accusing Celis of money laundering.

Reckon there are others?

There is an allegation that Jay R. Grodner, an attorney in Chicago, purposely and maliciously keyed the car of a Marine for no other reason than he doesn’t like the military. The allegations are supported by a police report because Jay R. Grodner was reportedly caught in the act by the car’s owner, Sgt. Michael McNulty.

McNulty then turned around and saw Grodner’s hands on his black car.

“Mike says, ‘Hey, what are you doing to my car? Open up your hand!’” Sullivan told us. “And [Grodner] goes, ‘[Blank] you! Just because you’re in the military you don’t run the roost!”

“There were allegedly many more epithets and cuss words, some allegedly applied to the United States Marine Corps, to the U.S. armed forces and to Sgt. McNulty himself.

“Quite frankly, you don’t even look like a soldier. You’re a small little [blank],” Grodner said according to Sullivan.

So, while Jay R. Grodner is innocent until proven guilty in court - in my opinion he is a piece of crap and I hope he gets his year in jail and a hefty fine.  It would be appropriate if Mr. Grodner was ordered to do some community service related to the Military or their families.  Perhaps this criminal can be rehabilitated and reintroduced back into society.

Norman Hsu Indicted

December 4th, 2007

Remember all the brouhaha about Jack Abramoff? All the allegations of criminality of Republicans in general - remember? Democrats never do these things! They are HOLY! It only happens in the party of SmirkyChimpHilterBush!

DailKos: There are ZERO Democrats who took Abramoff Money!

Yeah - you remember.

One of the front runners in the race for President of the United States has received illegal campaign contributions directly from Norman Hsu, which is why she didn’t need to take any from Jack Abramoff. She has also been reluctant (dare I say even lying about it?) to give money back.

Former Democratic fundraiser Norman Hsu, charged in September with cheating investors in a $60 million “Ponzi” scheme, was formally indicted by a federal grand jury on similar allegations, U.S. prosecutors said.

The 15-count indictment unsealed today in New York charges Hsu with wire fraud, mail fraud and violating election laws, alleging he recruited investors by promising high returns on short-term investments. He used money from new victims to pay older ones and pressured investors to contribute to political candidates he favored, U.S. Attorney Michael Garcia said.

Hsu is only one of Hillary Clinton’s 322 “bundlers” - so let us not pretend Hillary is not bowing to special interest groups and just making dang sure her bread gets buttered.

Lobbyists among Clinton’s 322 bundlers include Steve Ricchetti and Matthew Bernstein. Ricchetti Inc.’s clients include Detroit-based General Motors Corp. Bernstein’s law firm, DLA Piper US LLP, represents Bethesda, Maryland-based Lockheed Martin Corp., among others.

“The game in Washington is how you get your issues up on the radar screen of a policy maker,” McGehee says. “Being a bundler is probably one of the best ways to do that.”

Yeah, Democrats didn’t need to take money from Jack Abramoff - they all had criminals of their own.
