Iranian President Ahmedinejad, speaking at a National Right to Life dinner yesterday, denounced the “theory that human life actually exists”. The Iranian president, known for his denials of the Jewish holocaust in Nazi Germany and that terrorism existed in the Middle East prior to the 2003 invasion of Iraq, as well as his recent statements that there is no homosexuality in Iran, has earned himself a rare place in the Darwin Awards Hall of Fame.

In the prestigious St. Regis Hotel Potomac Ballroom, President Ahmedinejad - to jeers from the NRTL audience -  was quoted as saying, “I cannot imagine why you would claim a right to something, which we in Iran know does not exist. Perhaps you have such things in the United States - with your George Bush - but in Iran there is no such thing as life.”

National Right to Life President, Wanda Franz, could not be reached for comment. However, a staffer at the NRTL Headquarters related that President Ahmadinejad did not actually attend their dinner, but the Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories dinner, which was coincidentally being held in the Mount Vernon Ballroom of the same Washington, DC hotel.

After this statement, a unnamed official close to the Iranian president was quoted as saying that the Mount Vernon Ballroom does not actually exist, so President Ahmadinejad could not possibly have spoken there.

1:00 PM (CST): Santa is currently in the area of Moscow, Russia. He doesn’t stop in Russia tonight, as they celebrate their gift-giving season a couple of weeks later than we do.

1:15 PM (CST): Santa is reported over Finland and will spend the next little while in Scandinavia.

1:30 PM (CST): Santa is currently over the Ukraine. He is on schedule and still moving west (in a north/south zigzag) at a high rate of speed. He should be in Europe in a couple of hours and we’ll check back in before then to mark his progress.

After that it is the long haul across the Atlantic Ocean to the Eastern seaboard of the United States.

Double Dog Dare You!

If you had to make a correlation between Islamo-Fascists and common “Star Trek” alien races…which would they be?  Let’s look at some points: 

Islamo-Fascists:

• Beat and terrorize the public for speaking out
• Believe they are the pinnacle of the world
• Desire to push their beliefs on others (at sword point)
• Do not hold life as sacred

We can immediately take off the list the Intelligent and Emotionless Vulcans.  Even the Andorian’s with their passion can be removed from the possible list, as they can be reasoned with and accept logic.  For ease of narrowing down the list, I will give you my top candidates:

• Klingons
• Romulans
• Borg
• Cardassians
• Ferengi

 There are nearly a hundred or more races, some bad, some good, but for ease, I chose a few of what I considered the worst compared to our view of society. Here is your homework, tell me what race you think the Islamists more closely mirror.  You can also add to my list of Islamo-Fascist descriptors. 

Instinct would tend to lead you to a few conclusions:

• Although war is terrible, megalomaniacal despots who support terror are worse
• You should not kill babies
• Driver’s Licenses for illegal immigrants is dumb
• Having 12 million illegal immigrants in your country is a problem, not a voting block
• Other countries don’t like us because we are successful
• Not everyone is going to be successful in this country - many by choice
• You don’t subsidize people who are too lazy to subsidize themselves
• Society should protect you from persecution, not from being offended

Democrats are supporting policy further to the left than ever before. The party has, indeed, been hijacked by fervent, radical socialists. Take a look at the lefty blogs, with few exceptions. Take a look at the candidates who appear the most electable to Democrat voters. As criminal and as dangerously socialist as Hillary is, she seems to be “much to close to the center” for a great number of Democrat voters.

There might be a discovery that explains all of this. It is quite possible they are being led by robots.

This experiment in bug peer pressure combined entomology, robotics and the study of ways that complex and even intelligent patterns can arise from simple behavior. Animal behavior research shows that swarms working together can prosper where individuals might fail, and robotics researchers have been experimenting with simple robots that, together, act a little like a swarm.

Yup. That’s probably it.

The exercise today was to photograph, with a cell phone camera, items chosen by the kids. They selected the subjects and whether it was to be a close-up or not.

I guess this is as close as I can get to seeing through a child’s eyes, but we had fun doing this.
